Story
In May 2026, I will be aiming to complete the 496 Challenge in aid of 999 RE:SET charity which supports the mental health of all emergency responders. The 496 Challenge has to be completed on a month with 31 days and the challenge is to run (in km) daily consecutively the date of the month which totals to 496km over the 31 days of May;
1st May - 1km, 2nd May - 2km, 3rd May - 3km, 4th May - 4km, 5th May - 5km, 6th May - 6km, 7th May - 7km, 8th May - 8km, 9th May - 9km, 10th May - 10km, 11th May - 11km, 12th May - 12km, 13th May - 13km, 14th May - 14km, 15th May - 15km, 16th May - 16km, 17th May - 17km, 18th May - 18km, 19th May - 19km, 20th May - 20km, 21st May - 21km, 22nd May - 22km, 23rd May - 23km, 24th May - 24km, 25th May - 25km, 26th May - 26km, 27th May - 27km, 28th May - 28km, 29th May - 29km, 30th May - 30km, 31st May - 31km...
I'm raising money for 999 RE:SET because behind every emergency service uniform is a human carrying the weight of what they have just seen, heard and dealt with - often in silence.
Emergency service workers run towards danger on peoples worst days and over time that takes a real toll on mental health.
999 RE:SET provides vital support, understanding and space outdoors to reset for those who give so much of themselves to protect others.
This cause matters to me because looking after your mental health isn't a luxury in the emergency services - its essential.
