Story
The Challenge
In September 2025, I’ll be running 4 x 10K runs in 4 different countries in just one day - Ireland, Wales, England, and Scotland - to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The route:
🚩 Start in Ireland at sunrise for run #1
🚢 Ferry to Wales for run #2
🚗 Drive to Scotland for run #3
🏃 Finish in England before sunset for run #4
All in a single day. No crew. 40 kilometres. 4 countries. (And in an electric car!)
Why am I doing this?
Our beautiful baby boy was born prematurely at home, and thanks to the incredible emergency services, he was rushed to Hull NICU. In those first three weeks, he underwent cooling therapy, six blood transfusions, three rounds of platelets, multiple courses of antibiotics for suspected sepsis, MRI and brain scans, morphine, and much more.
It was an incredibly difficult and traumatic time, but we saw first-hand the care, dedication, and life-saving work these teams provide. They help the tiniest, most vulnerable fighters survive and thrive, giving families hope during the hardest days of their lives.
Today, our little miracle boy is thriving and full of joy. We’re deeply thankful we had access to a NICU with the treatment options he needed—something not every family has. Without that, the outcome could have been so different, and we are forever grateful for the care he received.
How you can help
Every donation - big or small - helps provide the equipment, training, and family support that NICUs need to give premature and sick babies the best start in life.
If you can, please donate and share this page so we can raise as much as possible for the little fighters and the families who need them.
💙 Thank you,
Tom
