An estimated 16,251 individuals and family members experienced homelessness at some point in 2023 in Southern Nevada. Just a year prior, the estimate was 13,972.
Social service providers have repeatedly warned that they have been seeing a steep increase in homelessness among families with children.
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission strives to be a model in providing hope and change for the homeless. Since 1970, the Mission has been providing hope and change to the homeless, addicted, mentally ill, and others in need. As the only agency left in town that can treat absolutely everyone, no matter their means, we ensure that no individual or family in legitimate need has to go without. In 2023, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission assisted thousands of people who were homeless. We served 280,660 meals, provided 57,289 nights of shelter, gave 4,568 people clothing and necessities, and placed 94 women, 58 men, and 20 families into permanent housing.
Beyond food, clothing, and shelter, the Mission operates a 6-month residential addiction and recovery program where men and women learn skills to empower them to become sober. The need is constant and growing, so we need your help!
After many decades of service to the homeless, our buildings are beginning to wear down, and we have to turn people away due to a lack of space. Our vision is to create a larger, modern campus to help them regain their dignity and build better lives.
Our ministry department needs a constant influx of Study Bibles, Bible study materials, Celebrate Recovery step-study books, and God willing a van and/or bus to transport residents to church and back.
We need your help so we can help them!
This is your opportunity to turn your compassion into action.
