This is no ordinary challenge we’re taking on - it’s a renowned endurance event that has been challenging participants for nearly six decades across the Shropshire Hills.
Established in 1967, it offers a rigorous 50-mile course that must be completed within 24 hours. A test of pure endurance, pushing competitors through the rugged, unforgiving Shropshire hills. With two crossings of the monstrous Long Mynd and a total ascent which is the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis twice in one day!
Despite it being a firm favourite with endurance athletes, the event has an official “retirements list” of all the people who don’t even finish each year, which should tell you everything you need to know…
So why are we doing this? Because some challenges are bigger than ourselves…
This year we’re doing it for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, as part of the Clive Henry Group’s commitment as a Change Maker—a select group of individuals and businesses dedicated to transforming the hospital for the future.
Right now, they’re building a state-of-the-art new entrance, designed to match the world-class care they provide to thousands of children and families every year.
