Story
My name is Kevin Pilgrim. In September 2022, I cycled 500 km in 24 hours to raise money for the CSNK2A1 Foundation.
This time, together with my friend Dan Holder, we'll be attempting an even bigger challenge: running 5 km every hour for 48 consecutive hours, covering a total distance of 240 km.
Over the course of two days, we'll battle exhaustion, sleep deprivation, sore legs, mental fatigue, and whatever the British weather decides to throw at us. Every hour, on the hour, we'll be back out running again. There will be no long rests, no proper sleep, and no time to recover.
We're taking on this challenge to raise money and awareness for OCNDS, an ultra-rare genetic condition, and for the CSNK2A1 Foundation, which was established to support individuals with OCNDS and fund vital research into the condition.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart because my son, Hunter, was diagnosed with OCNDS in 2021. Watching Hunter overcome challenges every single day has inspired us to take on this event. During those difficult early morning miles and sleepless nights, we'll remind ourselves why we started: to support families affected by OCNDS, raise awareness of this rare condition, and help fund future research and support through the CSNK2A1 Foundation.
Any donation, no matter how small, would make a huge difference. We'd also love for as many people as possible to join us for a lap or 2 or as many as they want.
📅 Starts: 11th September 12pm (Midday)
🏁 Finish: 13th September 11am (last lap)
📍 Start/Finish: New Road, Broomfield, Essex. CM1 7AN
🏃 Challenge: 5km every hour on the hour for 48 hours
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
