Story
Over the past five years, The New Normal Charity have provided free space, to all people, to speak about their bereavement, grief, mental health and well-being. However, without urgent fundraising they will not be able to continue running their services, meaning many people would not be able to receive the support, the community and the space they need. As a completely free alternative to one to one therapy, The New Normal offers space that is otherwise not an option for so many.
It is small charities that suffer the most in times of financial downturn, but these are the charities doing the work at grassroots level and delivering the much needed support to those who need it most.
Jacob, Ollie, Tim and Ben are four friends who met through cycling, and now they are doing what they can to raise money for this wonderful charity.
We will be taking on a 25 hour bike ride, on the 28th October starting in Richmond Park at 10am and riding through the night until 10am on the Sunday morning. With this being the nights the clocks go back, it means everyone gains an hour of sleep, but we will gain an hour on the bike.
Through the day we will ride in Londons icon Richmond Park, and as the sun sets and the gates close, we will make our way across town to Regents Park to take on the dark hours! When the sun begins to rise we will make our way back to Richmond and to finish where we started.
The goal is to each ride 600kms, with four of us taking part, that will be a total of 2400kms ridden collectively. Now, we happen to think that is pretty far. In fact, it is the equivalent of riding from Richmond Park to Morocco. That is far, very far.
We would love to have the support of as many people. If you can donate, please give what you can. If you would like to get involved and ride with us, we would welcome the company. If you would like to offer handing up pizza slice duties, get in touch! Most of all, please share, please tell your friends about our ride and please do all you can to make sure the work of The New Normal Charity can continue.
