On the 18th September 2025, my Dad's 63rd birthday, i'll be running 63 miles in his loving memory.

My route starts in Skipton, where last summer we spent a glorious day collecting the dream wedding dress he bought me, eating a full english in the sun and strolling down the canal with icecream. I'll then run 100km through Leeds, the city he watched me make my home, took me on our Friday afternoon Dad/Daughter dates, and lost his temper at the one way system. All before flying down the snicket, where countless hours were spent with my Dad holding my t-shirt to stop me going too fast on scooters, bikes and rollerblades, towards my parents home in Upton.

I'll be raising money to support Yorkshire Cancer Research. In October 2024 I ran the Yorkshire Marathon in support of this incredible charity. My Dad, despite feeling unwell from chemo, stood at the sidelines cheering me on, just like he's done my entire life.

I have no doubt that without the treatment supported by YCR, and other charities funding life saving cancer research, my Dad's time with us would have been even shorter. His treatment gave us chance to make even more precious memories. Walking me down the aisle, weekends away, playtime with his grandson, days at the beach, shouting at the chase from his chair. I'll never be able to express how grateful i am for that time.

We sadly lost my Dad in November last year, and in a letter he wrote he asked me to live my life to the fullest because it really is so short. I hope that any money raised from this run helps to make someone's life that little bit longer.

It will be hard, but not as hard as losing my Dad.
