Story
We are the 6am Crew — Lewis, Biscuit, Shane, Rich, Sam and Chloe — and we’re taking on a 24-hour rowing challenge to see which team can cover the greatest distance on a rowing machine.
On 29th–30th August 2026, we’ll be competing against five other teams at Panic Gym in Melton Mowbray, with each team raising money for their chosen charity. One person will be rowing at all times, with each of us completing 20-minute shifts before taking on a heavy bench press max-rep challenge to earn extra metres.
This challenge is a true example of “Moving More Together.” We’ve experienced first-hand how training can improve both physical and mental wellbeing, and we’re proud to be using something we love to help support an amazing cause.
Over 24 hours, we’ll be pushing ourselves through tiredness, sore muscles and the toughest moments of the night, but knowing we’re raising money and awareness will keep us going. To put the challenge into perspective, 10,000 metres is the length of Windermere, while 42,195 metres is equivalent to rowing the length of Loch Ness.
We have chosen to support MOVE Against Cancer because of the incredible work they do helping people living with and beyond cancer stay active. The charity supports individuals, families and healthcare professionals by making exercise more accessible, helping improve confidence, wellbeing and quality of life.
We’re excited, nervous and ready to take on the challenge — and we’d love your support as we row for an amazing cause.
