70km in 7 Days for Life & Time ❤️

Many of you will know that last September, my brother Andrew became critically unwell. Following multiple organ failure and a heart attack, Andrew spent 10 days in a coma and underwent more than 30 surgeries. At one stage, we were told he had just a 10% chance of survival due to the severity of his condition.

It was an incredibly frightening and uncertain time for Andrew and everyone close to him.

Andrew went on to spend six months between intensive care and surgical wards, receiving incredible care from the amazing doctors, nurses and staff at Salisbury Hospital.

Thankfully, a year on, Andrew has made an incredible recovery, and I wanted to do something positive to mark just how far he has come.

Starting this Sunday, 18th October, I’ll be running 10km every day for 7 consecutive days, covering a total of 70km and finishing on Saturday, 24th October.

I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for Life & Time, a fantastic local charity that provides vital end-of-life nursing care and support to people and families in our community.

Although Life & Time weren’t directly involved in Andrew’s care, many of us in the local community have seen or experienced first-hand the incredible difference they make to families during some of the most difficult times of their lives. After everything our family has been through, I wanted to give something back and support the amazing work they do.

❤️ Saturday 24th October – Final Run

Andrew and the family will be opposite the Whistledown Hotel from 12 noon to see me off on my final 10km run. It would be brilliant to have friends and family there to join us and mark the occasion.

Afterwards, we’re hoping to get everyone together in the Whistledown Hotel at approximately 1:30pm. Anyone who would like to join us is more than welcome. Just give the hotel a ring beforehand to reserve a table.
