Story

Hi, I’m Poppy, and this July I’m running 70 miles for something really close to my heart — Bebe’s Hive.

Bebe King was one of the most beautiful, kind, and special people I’ve ever known. I was lucky enough to love her and be loved by her, and losing her has left a space in my life that can never be filled. But even in the sadness, I want to do something positive in her name — something that keeps her spirit alive and helps others.

Bebe’s Hive is a new bereavement service being created to support children and young people through grief, just like I’ve experienced. It’s being built with so much care, in Bebe’s memory, and I want to help make sure it’s here for a long time.

That’s why I’m running 70 miles in July. I’m doing it for Bebe, for every child who’s lost someone, and for the Hive.

If you’re able to support me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🐝💛

Bebe’s Hive began with a conversation between two grieving mums — Jen and Lauren — both navigating life after child loss while raising their daughters.

They spoke about the silence, the gaps, and the need for spaces where children’s grief could be held gently.

Jen, having seen the impact of Elsie’s Story, wanted to create something special that could reach further. For Lauren, it felt like everything she’d done before had led to this moment.

Together, they imagined a safe, creative space for children — warm, child-led, and rooted in kindness.

Bebe and Elsie both left behind sisters, and their mums’ mission is grounded in love for them — and for families like theirs.

Today, Lauren leads Bebe’s Hive, with Jen supporting through Elsie’s Story. They are also still closely connected to Alex, Alice’s mum who is another part of this small circle of mums who continue to hold each other up. 🩷 🩷 🩷

This is how it began — with love, and a quiet determination to build something good. ✨
