Story
Hi everyone!
I am joining Marie and getting back on my bike for the 7 days of cycling fundraiser! We will be cycling around Milton Keynes to raise funds for The Seed Centre building fund which will provide a community hub and a forever home for SMK Gateway.
WHY AM I DOING IT?!
We are cycling and fundraising in memory of Marie's husband, my dear friend Robin Bradburn, who sadly passed away last September.
Robin was a huge support for SMK and was the person who informed us and when it came to securing the land for The Seed Centre. Robin knew the positive impact a community hub would have on the local area and how it would benefit society - so he backed us all the way!
ABOUT THE SEED CENTRE
The Seed Centre will finally give SMK a place to call home. Our new facilities will be more accessible and allow SMK to continue our work in educational support, whilst expanding our offerings to include services for those who are marginalised and often vulnerable.
Our new home will feature a café which will bring more job opportunities and provide warm spaces and social activities to promote connection and reduce isolation and suffering. Our hall will be available for event hire to support local businesses, charities and organisations with their initiatives. The entrepreneurial spaces will provide a location for our young business men and women to meet, plan, and work from as they bring their initiatives to life.
The possibilities for The Seed Centre include bringing a post office back to the area, food bank initiatives and homeless support, youth clubs and creative workshops, there is so much we can do!
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!
The impact of The Seed Centre will be undeniable but it all costs money and we need your support to make it happen.
So let's all get on board. Whether you choose to sacrifice a few coffees, your next takeaway or that pair of trainers that you don't actually NEED, how much you donate is down to you. If you are a tax payer remember to hit Gift Aid so we can claim that extra 20% and let's get us one step closer to our forever home.
WHY NOT JOIN US FOR A BIKE RIDE?!
This challenge isn't focusing on time completed or miles covered. This challenge is about the heart and the unity of our community. It is about us coming together in solidarity and support for a worthy cause while having fun and touring the city.
If you're available for one of our rides come and join in the fun as we take in our city and spread the word !
