Hi, I’m Verity 👋

Five years ago, I nearly lost everything.

At 19, I survived sepsis. At 20, I was diagnosed with type one diabetes.

Doctors told me my life would look different. That there were things I wouldn’t be able to do. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: when life draws a line around you, you don’t shrink — you redraw it bigger.

Now, I’m taking on the challenge of a lifetime:

This isn’t just a race. It’s proof that even with sepsis scars and insulin injections, you can still chase the extraordinary. That no diagnosis, no label, no setback, has the final say in your story.

Why I’m Running

I’m running for two causes written into my DNA:

• 💙 Sepsis UK — to save lives through awareness and faster recognition. I know how quickly it can take everything.

• 🩸 Breakthrough T1D — to fund research and a better future for everyone living with type one diabetes. Because I run not in spite of it, but to show what’s possible with it.

Every mile, every finish line, is a thank you to the people who got me here and a promise to those still fighting: you are not alone.

I’ll be documenting my journey — the flights, the 12-hour shifts, the miles through jet lag and exhaustion, and the finish lines I once thought impossible.
