Story
8 Bishopsgate is fundraising for The Mayor’s Fund for London to provide a stronger foundation to 1,000s of young Londoners facing the biggest barriers. The charity’s aim is to provide healthy meals, career opportunities and platforms from which they can be heard - so they can succeed, thrive and lead.
London’s young people need our support. They are ambitious, capable, and talented. But many can never see or access career opportunities – and the city’s employers are missing out.
MFL works with state schools in under-resourced areas to provide young Londoners with impactful experiences such as work placements, mock interviews, and CV workshops as well as increasing numeracy skills through their Numbers @ Work campaign.
This helps students to build confidence, skills, and understanding of the opportunities available to them – while at the same time, businesses are developing their current workforce and meeting their future one.
Additionally, their Kitchen Social programme is the largest providing food, recipe kits, and a safe place to go for children in London during the school holidays.
Last year the charity supported 89,133 young Londoners across 32 boroughs, delivering 40,000 upskilling opportunities, and more than half a million meals.
Let's help The Mayor's Fund for London fuel young Londoner’s futures and break the poverty cycle - donate today.
