Story
I’m excited to announce that this July, I’ll be taking on the Cumbria Way which involves myself solo camping and hiking nearly 80 miles throughout the Lake District - from Ulverston to Carlisle.
Thanks to my family and friends, I’ve decided to use the challenge to raise money for Blackburn Foodbank. A local charity in my hometown that supports individuals and families who are struggling to put food on the table during the ongoing cost of living crisis. Food insecurity is something many of us never have to think about, but for others in our own communities it’s a daily reality.
All of us are only a couple of difficult days or one major unexpected situation away from being in a similar position ourselves. We often spend money without much thought on things like extra clothes, subscriptions, takeout food, but donating even a small amount can go a long way for families facing hardship.
So if you’re able to donate, even £1 can help provide emergency food parcels to those who need them most. However, if you can’t donate, sharing this would mean just as much.
Thank you for reading and to those who have been supporting me along the way. May you all be rewarded for all your acts of kindness and generosity.
