8JPII's Sponsored Walk

Clare Meoli is raising money for The Matrix Trust

Sponsored Walk · 26 June 2026

We work in partnership with young people, churches, schools, local organisations and the community to nurture, inspire, connect and empower them. Through provision and opportunities, we can provide a platform to help them make the most of their lives – whatever context they find themselves in.

Story

This year, we will be celebrating the Feast of St Peter with our traditional open-air Mass, followed by an eight-mile sponsored walk across the North Downs, with students taking part in fancy dress.

As a school community, we have chosen to support The Matrix Trust, a Christian charity that provides a vital lifeline for vulnerable young people across the Guildford Borough. Their work is centred on nurturing, inspiring and empowering young people, helping them to overcome challenges and make positive choices for their futures.

Each year, The Matrix Trust supports thousands of young people both in schools and within the wider community, making a tangible and lasting difference to their lives. They work in partnership with schools, families, churches and local organisations to help young people grow in confidence, resilience and purpose.

At St Peter’s, The Matrix Trust plays an integral role in our pastoral care. Their trained Mental Health First Aid Youth Workers work alongside our students to support their emotional wellbeing. This support is not only preventative but also responsive to the increasing mental health needs we are seeing among young people today.

Many students in our own school community have already benefited from the care and guidance that The Matrix Trust provides. By supporting this year’s sponsored walk, you are helping to ensure that this invaluable service can continue to reach more young people who need it.

We would be extremely grateful if you would consider sponsoring your child for this event. Your support will make a real and meaningful difference, both within our school and across the wider community.
