901 miles for Milo's Mission

Walking/Running 901 miles in 24 days
Hi all,
Milo's family have decided to come together to raise funds for Milo's Mission, a Special Named Fund at CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association in memory of Milo River Bayly Sissons.
Milo tragically lost his life to Wilm's Tumour, a type of Kidney cancer on 26th November 2024. He was almost two and a half years old when he died.
We have decided to collectively walk/run 901 miles to represent the 901 days Milo was alive, by 10th June, what should be his 3rd birthday.
Our family will be taking part in London, Hertfordshire, Yorkshire, Belfast and Newcastle. We started today (Sunday 18th May) and will keep you posted with our progress.
Our goal is to raise £901 or more for Milo's Mission. The funds we raise will go towards Childhood cancer research, in memory of Milo.
Sadly 2 out of every 10 children diagnosed with cancer will die from the disease, making it the leading cause of death for children. Only a tiny fraction of the UK's national cancer funding goes on childhood cancer, less than 4% and our children are suffering from toxic treatment which is created for adults. Our children deserve better.
Milo was misdiagnosed which cost him valuable time and we now know this is common. In Milo’s memory, we want to raise money to help increase awareness and help other children get diagnosed faster.
Milo also suffered greatly from the side effects of his chemotherapy treatment. Chemotherapy is very toxic, and even for those children who survive, over 75% have long term health complications from chemotherapy and radiotherapy. We are also raising money to help fund much needed research into kinder treatments for children, so other children don’t have to suffer like Milo.
Thanks so much for all your support.
