Story
After living in Harrogate for so long, I’ve always appreciated how boss the drive home is, passing through the rolling hills and I’ve often thought, One day I’d love to trail run this. So now, I’m finally going for it but for a reason far bigger than just the challenge.
On the 7th of August, I’ll be running 90 miles (145 kilometres) from my workplace at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate all the way back home to the Cubicle Pub in West Derby, Liverpool (of course I had to finish at a boozer).
I’m doing this in memory of Leah Hayes and to raise money for a brilliant charity called Leah’s Friends of CF.
Leah was born with Cystic Fibrosis in 1985. Despite the challenges she faced, she lived her life surrounded by loving friends and family, many of whom have raised thousands over the years to support others living with CF. Though Leah is no longer with us, her spirit and kindness live on through this charity, which officially became Leah’s Friends of CF in 2019. Every penny raised goes directly to help individuals and families affected by CF.
This cause means a lot to Becky and her family and friends, so I want to do this run for them.
Please donate whatever you can, every pound makes a real difference to the CF community. Thank you so much for your support
