Story
Chris Homer and Andrew Brackenbury are members of the Aspire networking group based in Swindon, Cirencester and Faringdon. Our ethos is to support our fellow members and to give as much as we can to charities (finances and effort). We work very closely as Chris is a financial adviser and Andrew is a will writer. We have decided to raise funds to support a valuable charity by jumping out of an aircraft at 10,000 feet. A somewhat foolish activity some might say!
We met Tony Attwood, the founder of Hope and Vision Communities and were immediately drawn to help the charity. What a story and what a commitment to help so many people in need. Hope and Vision Communities provides supported accommodation to people that have completed residential rehabilitation for addiction.
James M (one of the residents) is joining us. His message "I'm doing a skydive for hope and Vision because A) I want to do one and the charity has made it happen and I'm so grateful for that opportunity and B) It's to raise money for Hope and Vision, so other people like myself can potentially have opportunities like this in the future. My time with the charity has been absolutely wonderful. Everyone in the community is very loving and so I treat them like family. I especially want to say thanks to Kevin and Will Antonio for all the work they put in to help me have a much better life.
One week to go and we are all pretending we are not afraid.
