Story

On the 14th September I am going to try and run and cycle across Scotland, from Nairn to Glencoe in one day… Something I have wanted to do and also an opportunity to raise money for a very special cause.

My Nephews Ben (10) & Bobby (9) have a very rare genetic disease called CGD, and as a consequence have spent years under treatment from specialists at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD) is a life-threatening and life-limiting genetic condition that can be managed with care and support, it can be cured with a bone marrow transplant.

Following years of illness, Ben had a successful bone-marrow transplant in 2021 and has made a full recovery. Bobby had a transplant earlier this year and has experienced a number of complications.

These two are hugely special and brave boys.

Throughout the process, there has been an incredible charity by their side; The CGD Society that has supported, in person, from day 1.

This is a very rare disease and a very specialist charity and every penny has a tangible impact. If you have any spare pennies this month, we would be hugely grateful for your donation.
