Story

Exercise has always been my go to...for my physical and mental health.

So when a chronic hip injury, in 2015, meant I had to give up most of the sports I loved (and that kept me sane), it led to a period of depression and self-pity.

Things reached a point last year where I needed to change something and take back control.

After joining the gym and discovering the cross trainer, I felt like Jake Sully in Avatar. Do you know the moment when he escapes his wheelchair and finds freedom; running and jumping through the trees.

I decided I wanted to do something epic, something that I was accountable for and that would challenge me. So I'm doing the ironman.

It's a ridiculous challenge really as I can't run. But I am determined to complete all three distances, over three days.

I am doing it to raise funds for a charity that does amazing work supporting mental health in the community.

They would like to do more preventative work, but to do this we need to fund raise.

There are two ways you can help me to help them...

1. A donation would be absolutely amazing and...

if you donate please let me know, in the comment box, one thing you do for your own mental health and wellbeing

2. You can come and join us on a leg of the event or sign up to raise funds for Advocacy Focus
