Story

The Problem

Jayne Shrimpton was diagnosed with Myeloma, a nasty blood cancer, in May 2023. She is going through treatment and the future remains unknown…

The Solution

Myeloma UK is a charity that supports patients and funds research to secure a more positive future for people like Jayne.

The Mission

Seven friends & family have assembled to help generate income for Myeloma UK by running the Brighton Half Marathon on 25th February, please choose your runner and donate.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joe

- Constantly talks about how fit he was when he was 19, he is now 29.

- Beaten by Digby in the 2019 Brighton Half Marathon, Joe cared.

Digby

- Beat Joe in the 2019 Brighton Half Marathon, Digby didn’t care.

- Wanted all seven of us to run in one long horse costume.

Laura

- "Did a 20 min jog yesterday and struggling to walk today" (10/10/2023)

Will

- Threw up during his first ParkRun.

- Probs won’t train much, will probs win.

Sybil

- Got herself from a 5K to Half Marathon within a month during lockdown.

- Don’t expect the same commitment from her now.

- Might be hungover on the day.

Freya

- Keeps hurting her knee and not being able to walk because she can’t be bothered to stretch – will she make it on the day or hobble away?

Daisy

- Fresh on the running scene

- "It’s only 4 x 5K’s and a bit" - positivity or naive?

- "but I planned to look chic" ... naive.
