💙 My Journey with Motor Neurone Disease (MND)

Life sometimes throws you a curveball… and mine came in the form of a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). There’s no cure (yet!), and while the doctors can’t say exactly when my symptoms began — or how long I’ve got — I’ve decided not to let that define me. Instead, I’m taking each day as it comes… with a smile, some laughter, and a fair bit of stubbornness! 💪😄

Right now, I’m still driving 🚗, still working (just on shorter hours), and doing my best to keep life feeling “normal.” My amazing wife and I are focusing on what really matters — making memories with our two cheeky, adorable grandkids, Annie and Teddy 💕.

We’ve even got a magical trip to Euro Disney this December 2025 lined up 🎠✨ — can’t wait to see their faces light up (and probably mine too)!

To keep my spirits high and raise awareness, I’m organising a Charity Golf Day ⛳ at my local club, West Cornwall Golf Club. We’re looking at 16th January 2026 and the support so far from family, friends, and the local community has been absolutely incredible. You lot are legends! 🙏💙 Even if you cannot make the day any donation’s will be greatly appreciated to continue the fight against this terrible disease ❤️

At the moment, everything’s still working — for how long, who knows — but that’s not stopping me from living life to the full. My wife’s putting on a brave face (and doing an amazing job of it ❤️), and knowing she’ll be supported means the world to me.

It’s so important that we continue to support MND research and raise awareness for everyone affected. I’ll keep posting updates as my journey goes on — so stick around, share the love, and let’s keep fighting this together.

Further update…

It’s the Monday after my Charity Golf Day and WOW… what a day it was! 🤯⛳️🎉 We raised a magnificent £2,046 on the day to take my total to over £6,500 — absolutely incredible! 💷❤️🙌

This day simply wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of my wife, family, friends, sponsors, and everyone at West Cornwall Golf Club — truly a day to remember 💕🏌️‍♂️👏

As for me… I’m still driving 🚗, still working (well… a little 😜), and still managing the odd game of golf thanks to my trusty golf buggy 🏌️‍♂️🛺.

The holiday to Disney with the wife and grandkids was pure magic ✨🏰🎢 — memories made that will last a lifetime ❤️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

Next adventure coming up… a lovely warm trip to Egypt 🇪🇬☀️🏖️ — and then this summer, the big one: my daughter Morgan’s wedding to her beautiful bride Lydia 💍👰‍♀️👰‍♀️🎉 — so there’s still plenty to look forward to!
