My annual GOOD MORNING charity appeal for 2025 is directed towards the Chipping Norton Theatre Community Programme which is based at the wonderful little theatre in "Chippy", my local town.

Chipping Norton sits at the north-east edge of the Cotswolds which are widely see to be the playground of the rich and famous but the town itself is anything but and is home to many underprivileged families.

Our theatre which has declined the offer of further Arts Council grants in order to maintain its artistic and intellectual independence and which depends on local support is the pride of this small town and the envy of many.

The theatre, having just celebrated the 50th anniversary as an independent trust, takes every opportunity it can to bring young people, many from those underprivileged homes, and offers them a window on the wider world. At the same time, it endeavours to enhance their communication skills and to build their confidence that will as they grow up stand them in good stead.

It is no secret that I love to use my annual appeal to support causes which above all benefit our young.
