Story
The British Heart Foundation is a charity very close to my heart (literally!). I was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). This has meant that I've needed surgery throughout my whole life and I have been in and out of hospital since I can remember.
Those that know me, know how much my life has been affected by my heart condition and that I have had more than my fair share of operations and battles. At my last count my surgery total was around 25, 5 of these being open heart surgery.
In 2023 I underwent my biggest open heart surgery to date and spent around 7 weeks in hospital after and then a further 3 months slowly getting back on my feet, with the help of a cardiac team. I have decided to try and give a little back to a charity who's research has literally saved my live (more than once!)
This year I am challenging myself in September to walk the Thames Bridges Trek- 25 km to try and raise as much as I can. I've never attempted anything like this before and anything you can give would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your support.
