Story
I will be running the London Marathon and raising money alongside my family in honour of a truly incredible man — Mark Ainsworth. A devoted husband, the best dad, a proud grandad, and a caring brother — my dad, Mark, was someone who brought love, strength, and laughter to everyone lucky enough to know him.
Sadly, we lost my dad far too soon, at just 58 years old. Princess Alice kindness meant the world to us, and now we want to give something back in his name.
Princess Alice Hospice was like an angel on my mum's side, supporting her in her tireless efforts caring for my dad at home. In fact, they supported all of us in being able to give the care to my dad at home, which none of us would have had any other way. They allowed us to have those precious moments together, just knowing they were there, night or day, if needed.
We’re raising funds for Princess Alice Hospice in loving memory and deep gratitude. Every step we take in this marathon is for my dad, Mark — and every donation helps another family receive the same incredible care and support.
Please give what you can.
This One’s All For You, Dad.
With love and thanks,
Proud Son, John-Henry (Jay) Ainsworth
