In honor of Arab American Heritage Month, AAA is excited to celebrate and recognize the rich culture, history, and contributions of Arab communities. At the same time, we would also like to use this moment to stand in solidarity with those in need across the Middle East.

The recent escalation in hostilities has had a devastating impact on South Lebanon and the Bekaa region. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health and the United Nations, the lives of nearly 500 civilians were lost, over 1,500 people were injured, and more than 113,000 were displaced from their homes. The situation is worsening, with casualties rising daily.

In response, Basmeh & Zeitooneh (B&Z) is mobilizing to provide urgent relief for displaced families. We are focusing on equipping shelters, providing food, hygiene kits, and essential non-food items. Our emergency response team is working around the clock to assess the situation, and while areas remain unclear, we are preparing to intervene wherever the need is greatest all over Lebanon.
