Story
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”, I was one of those in 2011 when diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
I've decided that as I turn 30 I not only want to get fit, but also want to give something back to the charity that ultimately helped to save my life 13 years ago.
Teenage Cancer Trust are dedicated to providing specialised care and support to teenagers and young adults facing cancer. They understand the unique needs of this age group and work tirelessly to ensure that no young person has to face cancer alone. From providing dedicated hospital wards like the one at UCLH which treated me, and expert nursing care to offering emotional and social support, Teenage Cancer Trust are a beacon of hope for many.
Running this marathon is my way of giving back to a charity that supported me during my toughest times. It's a testament to the strength and resilience that I discovered within myself and a tribute to all the teenagers who are currently in the midst of their own battles.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Your support means the world to me and to the countless teenagers who benefit from the incredible work done by Teenage Cancer Trust. Let's look towards a future where every young person can overcome cancer and live life to the fullest.
