Aaron's Year of Marathons for Cancer!

12 marathons in 12 months across the UK
Like many, I've experienced the heartbreak of losing loved ones to cancer.
My beloved mother lost one of her many courageous battles with cancer, and my father passed away when I was five years old.
These stories are all too familiar, but thanks to the incredible work of McMillan, there is hope. Each day brings new advancements and better outcomes.
Survival rates for many cancers are improving, and some are now even curable.
To support those still fighting and to contribute to the ongoing efforts to improve their lives, I'm taking on a challenge: running 12 marathons in 12 months throughout 2025 for charity.
Your generous contributions can make a significant difference. Please give what you can.
If you'd like to come along and support or even take part, here are the marathons Booked so far:
January 4th - Milton Keynes - First one done! I finished with a time of 4:05 - Took a wrong turn and went off course. A bit disappointed with my time but ce la vie. This was always going to be the toughest race as it followed the Christmas festivities and it was the first one. Not long until the next one!
February 16th - Brandon, Suffolk - Really enjoyable but tough run. Trail marathon which as very hilly and lots of tree roots and mud. Ended up finishing first and a time of 3:47
March 16th - Barcelona, Spain - Best one yet! Managed to get my best marathon time of 3:26. Incredibly beautiful city to run around and managed to have a bit of a holiday there too! Legs have been jelly since the run and finding it hard to recover and get running again..but onwards we must push
April 13th - Paris, France - Really fun run. So many supporters and people watching the race, must've been millions taking to the streets of Paris. Paris is one of my favourite cities in the world and it was a fantastic way to see it. After the race I managed to overindulge in the local Parisian food and enjoy all Paris has to offer. Finished the marathon with a time of 3:41
May 5th - Milton Keynes - Proper slog. As this was so close to the Paris marathon I didn't have a great deal of time to train, in fact only 4 runs between so my training was off! However, I was over the moon with the time of 3:33 - The finish line was in the MK Dons stadium was really nice as the crowd were cheering all the runners
June 8th - Cheddar Gorge, Somerset - Absolute bastard of a marathon. Massive hills up and down, couldn't build any momentum. Finished in 5hours, nut most importantly - I finished it! Toughest one yet
July 13th - Live Aid Anniversary Marathon
August 3rd - Bedford, Bedfordshire
September 27th - Lake Dorney
October 11th - Suffolk
November - TBC
December - Bauble Bimble, Peterborough - ULTRA MARATHON!!
