Story
In August 2026, I’ll be taking on the Sydney Marathon as part of #TeamARUK, raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity.
Dementia is something that affects so many families, including people close to me. Seeing the impact it has not just on individuals, but on their loved ones is incredibly difficult. It slowly takes away memories, independence, and personality, leaving families facing a heartbreak that no one should have to go through.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia, bringing us closer to a cure. But this research can only continue with support.
This will be my first ever marathon, having completed two successful half marathons, and I’ve set myself an ambitious goal of finishing in under 3 hours 30 minutes. Every mile of training and every step on race day will be driven by this cause.
I’m running this marathon for all the family members and friends who have suffered from Alzheimer’s and dementia, and for those who may face it in the future. Every step I take in Sydney will be for them.
Training for a marathon is a huge challenge, but it’s nothing compared to what those living with dementia go through every day.
Any donation, big or small, would mean a lot and will go towards funding vital research to help find a cure.
Thank you so much for your support !
