Story
My daughter Saskia was in the same year at school as a boy called Frank.
In April 2016, aged 11, Frank was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a form of bone cancer. The next 12 months entailed an unimaginably tough period of treatment, including 14 exhausting cycles of chemotherapy and an horrific 8 hour operation.
In September 2017, after just 5 months in remission, the disease returned and tragically Frank's short life ended on 9th February 2019.
His family have since set up Franks Fund in his memory, helping to address the fact that investment and research into bone cancer has been largely overlooked.
He left a huge impression on the school and community, especially in witnessing the fortitude displayed by Frank and his family, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to be running the marathon for Franks Fund.
Any and all donations to raise money for this important and underfunded cause will be much appreciated.
