Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI researches causes and possible cures of leukaemia and lymphoma in Northern Ireland.

Story

"I’m afraid it’s bad news—you have leukaemia." As quickly as those words can be read, that’s how quickly our lives did a 180 and changed forever.

In July 2024, Colleen celebrated her 30th birthday in Brussels, dancing along to P!nk as a carefree, healthy young woman. Just three weeks later, she was admitted to 10 North at Belfast City Hospital with a leukaemia diagnosis.

Throughout Colleen’s recovery, I’ve witnessed firsthand the critical role blood and platelet transfusions play. For Colleen and so many others, these donations are not just vital—they are life-saving. That’s why this page doesn’t have a monetary target. Your support—whether it’s donating blood, platelets, registering as a stem cell donor, or contributing funds for research—makes a real and lasting difference in the fight against blood cancers.

And if that’s not enough of a reason to act, I’ve also convinced Darragh and Niall to join me in running the Manchester Marathon in April 2025, all in support of Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI.

When our lives felt heavy and our hearts were broken, the kindness of our community in Clonduff was a light in the darkness. On behalf of Colleen, I want to thank everyone who has supported us from day one, as well as the incredible superheroes of 10 North who go above and beyond every single day to help Colleen on her journey to recovery.

I’ll do my best to keep everyone updated through my socials and want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your support, in whatever form it takes.

Together, we can make a difference!
