Jack and I have chosen to raise money for SPRING following the recent loss of our baby boy, Elliot.

SPRING is a charity that is now incredibly close to our hearts after we experienced the devastating and unexpected loss of Elliot through a late miscarriage during my second trimester on 28th June 2026.

On Saturday 10th October, during Baby Loss Awareness Week, we will be walking 10km with some friends and colleagues from Hillside Vets. Abbi will also be setting herself the challenge of walking 300,000 steps throughout October.

About SPRING:

SPRING was established in 1998 to provide support to parents and relatives who have experienced the death of a baby during pregnancy, at, or just after birth. This includes miscarriage, stillbirth and termination for foetal abnormality. Over the years SPRING has evolved to help many families and friends through such devastating times. SPRING is part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity (Registered Charity Number 1057366) and is overseen by a steering group which includes bereaved parents and caring, committed professionals all of whom are passionate about SPRING and matters surrounding baby loss.

The aim of SPRING is to support through grief at the point of loss, delivery and beyond. SPRING works closely with medical professionals to help provide a high level of care to bereaved families, alongside regular NHS services.

Our experience:

The genuine empathy, kindness and support that Jack and I received from the doctors, midwives and support staff at RBH during the loss of Elliot is something we will never forget. Having people there to support us during the most heartbreaking experience of our lives meant more than we can put into words.

By raising money for SPRING, we hope that other families experiencing the unimaginable loss of their baby can receive the same compassion, care and support that we were given.

🪽 Refurbishment of the SPRING bereavement suites within the BEACH building at RBH
