Chlopecki’s And Crew 3 Peak Challenge For Tone’s Charity - Love Musgrove ❤️

Abbie May is raising money for Love Musgrove

3 Peaks Challenge · 18 May 2026

Musgrove Hospital in Taunton is the largest general hospital in Somerset and serves a population of 340,000. Charitable donations are used to support the work carried on at the hospital by purchasing services and equipment which would not otherwise be provided.

Story

As many of you know our dad, Tony Chlopecki, started his chemotherapy treatment back in May of last year. To see such a fit and strong man who cycled daily to barely be able to keep his eyes open for longer than 10 minutes, at times, has been heartbreaking to watch. He has finished his initial 18 week course of treatment but the journey isn’t over with Lymphoma, as with many types of cancer it’s a battle which will require ongoing treatment and management. Tone will continue with his treatment (visiting Musgrove for a top up of chemo bimonthly) for the next 3 years along with regular tests to ensure the treatments effectiveness….

We feel so grateful to the people that have looked after Tone that, naturally, we wanted to give something back! When we told him of our idea for the fundraiser we asked which charity he would like to choose, Tones response was that he probably ‘owed Musgrove a few quid in rent’ after also spending an amount of time there in 2023 when they saved his life (the first time) after contracting sepsis! Therefore he has chosen Love Musgrove as his charity.

Along with our partners and a couple of friends we have challenged ourselves to hike the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales over a 24 hour period on the 18th May. This will also include hiking through the night. We will begin in Scotland and climb Ben Nevis. Next we will make our way down to the Lake District and hike Scafell Pike and finally we will arrive in Wales to finish our challenge by climbing up and down Snowdon, all being well, within 24 hours!

Although the care and treatment from all of the nurses has been outstanding at Musgrove, there was a couple of times over the 18 weeks where a bed wasn’t available and important chemotherapy treatment had to be put on hold for days. We really do need to support our local hospital as much as we can and raise funds to help them to continue to look after us and our families!

George, Celine, Phil and Abbie.. and whichever of our silly friends decide to join us!! X
