Abbie's fundraiser for Endometriosis UK

Abbie Strickland is raising money for Endometriosis UK

Charity night · 20 September 2025

Over 1.5 million in the UK have endometriosis and the impact of the disease is for some devastating, yet diagnosis takes on average 8 years. With your donations we are turning this around, raising awareness, providing support and information, supporting research, and campaigning for change.

Story

Hello, I thought I’d introduce myself, I’m Abbie 23 years old, and I’m raising awareness for endometriosis. Endometriosis is a long-term condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, bowel and in some cases lungs etc. also This condition also reduces the chance of being able to conceive and carry a baby.

3 months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis at 23years old. This has affected my whole life, and includes an operation to remove my left ovary and tube which on top of the reduced chances of pregnancy this lowers them more.

I suffered since I was 14 years old with

Excruciating pain and was put on contraception yet if there was more awareness around this condition I may have caught it earlier and may not be suffering as much as I am now.

There is no cure, there is only an operation to remove as much as they can but it will grow back.

Endometriosis needs much more awareness. For young girls and women that suffer and a treatment needs to be found. Therefore I am raising money towards the charity ENDomentriosis Uk. Any donation will help. Thank you.
