In the Children's Outpatients Department, we see over 80,000 children from newborns to 18-year-olds yearly. This is for essential procedures and outpatient appointments covering various specialties. Though we try to meet all our patient's needs we have a large number of children whose medical conditions are complex, neurodiverse, and have sensory issues. The Children's Outpatient setting does not currently have the facilities to ensure that these children have the best experience in coming into the hospital setting.

We are raising funds to create a dedicated sensory area to offer a calm and engaging space to help children feel safe, relaxed, and supported during their visit. A sensory area will provide a soothing environment, reducing anxiety, and improving their overall experience.

Staff members from Children's Outpatients took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon back in June 2025 and are now planning their next challenge to help raise more funds.
