We're raising £4,800 to build 4 Deep Water Wells in Bangladesh on behalf of our beloved Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Abdul Qayyum

Dear brothers and sisters, Our beloved Abdul Qayuum (from Enfield), returned to our Lord on Sunday the 5th of November 2023.

Abdul Qayuum was a Father, Brother, Son, Uncle and most of all a dearest friend. He is also the brother in law of late Muhammad Aslam Uddin.

We are fundraising to help build a deep water well on his behalf for families in Bangladesh. A lack of access to clean water remains one of the biggest obstacles for the less fortunate. A water well provides reliable access to safe, clean water, for drinking, cooking, washing, watering crops, keeping livestock hydrated without the risk of illness. It also means women and children don‘t have to walk for miles to collect (often dirty) water. The average distance that women and children walk in Asia is 3.7 miles carrying around 20 litres of water.

A good quality tube wells are manually operated and can lift water from about 30 or 40 metres beneath the ground. They are designed to last at least 10 years and can be maintained by the beneficiary. Deep water wells can cost up to £1200 in some parts of Bangladesh making it increasingly harder for them to do this alone without the support. Your donation will help less fortunate families a chance to break free from poverty and transform their lives with this basic necessity.

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: “Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status." (Muslim Vol. 4, Hadith 6264).

Sadaqah Jariyah is a continuous and ongoing charity. It is one of the most rewarding deeds as its benefits can be reaped now and continue to benefit us after we have returned to our Lord.

May Allah grant our beloved Abdul Qayyum the highest ranks in Jannah. Ameen
