Story
Many of you were there with us in 2017. You helped us crowdfund the very first Palestine Music Expo. You bought into our crazy vision of "If you book them, they will come." And because of your early support, we brought the global music industry to Ramallah, secured record deals and international tours for many Palestinian artists and proved that Palestinian talent belongs on the world stage, again all of that happened because of you and we will forever be grateful for it.
You know the successes we’ve had. But you also know that the reality on the ground has violently shifted.
The cultural infrastructure we spent years building together has been decimated. Studios in Gaza are rubble. Instruments have been lost. Living conditions make creating music a luxury many simply cannot afford.
But PMX has not stopped. We just had to pivot to survival. Our Gaza Director, Ahmed Saqer, has been an absolute lifeline. From organizing PMX Kids festivals in Gaza for over 18,000 children before the genocide , to working from a laptop while displaced in Egypt, Ahmed has delivered extraordinary impact. In the last year alone, he has supported over 100 displaced Gazan musicians, replaced 32 destroyed instruments, and run festivals reaching over 4,200 people across Cairo and Alexandria.
The 2026 Pivot: The UK Hub
In Egypt, Palestinian refugees are classified as illegal immigrants with no right to work. We could not let Ahmed and the core of our operations operate under that impossible ceiling.
So we pulled off something massive. Against all odds, we have secured a UK Skilled Worker Visa for Ahmed and his family.
Furthermore, PMX is now officially registered as a UK Community Interest Company. Bringing Ahmed to England is not just a rescue mission, it is a strategic industry move. With accountable, transparent governance and a UK base, Ahmed can finally tap directly into the global industry, negotiate deals, and secure the international funding that is impossible to manage under siege.
Why I’m raising £20,000 right now:
Across the Amos Trust network, we are raising £100,000 to fund PMX’s 2026 operations.
My personal goal is to raise £20,000 of that total right here. This is our "Bridge Fund." While Ahmed transitions to the UK to set up the new hub, this £20k ensures our on the ground work doesn't drop a single beat.
Your contribution today directly funds:
- The Cairo Sessions: Continued rehearsal spaces, instrument distribution, and psychotherapy for displaced artists in Egypt.
- Palestine Operations: Restarting our songwriting camps and live showcases in the West Bank.
- The UK Pipeline: The immediate logistical costs of getting Palestinian artists back onto international festival stages.
You believed in PMX when it was just an idea. You helped us build a thriving scene. Now, I am asking you to help us rebuild the stage so these artists can keep playing.
Every contribution, big or small, keeps the music alive. Thank you for standing with us, again.
