On Sunday 8th March I shall be running at the Wickersley 10k event supporting The 50k Power Play campaign for Abel and Eli's Powerchair football team, supported by the Rotherham United Community Trust.
Powerchair football is the only active team sport that is fully inclusive for wheelchair users and people with severe mobility impairments. It is quick, skilful and seriously competitive and now thanks to RUCT it is here in Rotherham (the only powerchair team in South Yorkshire)
My twin son's, Abel and Eli both play for this team and have done right since it started in 2024. As full time wheelchair users this has given them a chance to participate in their beloved sport of football, meeting new friends and team mates who also have disability needs, which gives them a sport to highlight what they can do and achieve.
