The centre provides somewhere for the children of the village of Veerambur to do their homework, helped by a tutor, in the evenings, rather than under the only street lamp in the village, as they did before. It is also a facility for the village.

BGCT helps by making grants to 4 Indian charities who run 9 projects around the Saccidananda Ashram the Trust has decided to support, concentrating on education, training, helping the elderly and the relief of need. Because we spend so little on admin 99% of income is available for grant-making.
