WJFG Charity Challenge - Snowdon Climb

WJFG Charity Challenge · 25 September 2024
Our colleague Laura King recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of her beloved sister, Lisa, who passed away at just 47 years old. In her final days, Lisa was cared for at St. Raphael's Hospice in Sutton - a place that provided not just medical care, but also immense comfort and compassion to both Lisa and her family.
St. Raphael's Hospice offers so much more than just palliative care. They provide holistic therapies, wellbeing sessions, and counselling support for patients and their families, both during and after their time at the hospice.
Lisa’s family were fortunate to have St. Raphael's during this incredibly difficult time. However, the hospice relies heavily on donations to operate. Of the £7 million needed annually to run St. Raphael's, only 25% comes from NHS funding - the lowest percentage received by any of London’s nine adult hospices, according to Hospice UK. Recently, the hospice has faced severe financial challenges, leading to staff redundancies and the closure of half their suites due to cost inflation.
We have chosen St Raphael’s Hospice as our charity for WJFG Charity Challenge this year to honour Lisa's memory and support this vital service.
Our colleagues Sophie, Andria, Arian, Kreshnik, Ben, and Joao Paulo will be climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest mountain in Wales and England, on the 25th & 26th of September. They have all been training hard for this challenge, and your support can make a huge difference.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help St. Raphael's continue their incredible work. Plus, whichever team from the Group raises the most money by 5:00pm on September 26th will receive an additional £1,000 donation for their charity.
So please support us and help A&C be the winning team!
