I’m taking on the Hackney Half Marathon in May 2026 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK, an incredible charity dedicated to advancing research into Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Dementia is a progressive brain disease that gradually erodes memory, deeply affecting quality of life—not just for those diagnosed, but for their loved ones too. By supporting this cause, we move one step closer to finding a cure and changing lives for the better.

More personally to me, I’m running on behalf of my grandad who for the last 4 years has been losing his memory to dementia. Although it’s been painful to watch his memory decline, he remains to be one of the funniest and kindest people I know, and is always more concerned about everyone else than he is of himself. He's my most favourite person on the planet, and even though he doesn't and wont remember me running I know he'd be super proud - (mostly because i'm the leat athletically inclined grandchild).

For anyone who has lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s or Dementia, or is watching it completely change their world I really do understand the pain and send you all my love.
