——————————ABI’S STORY——————————-This May I am participating in Dazzle Walk 2025 to raise money for The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK - but in my own way!

As many people know, I suffer from Ehlers Danlos with vascular complications. A few years ago I had an accident which led to spinal damage and paralysis and have lived in hospitals & care homes ever since.

So instead of “walking”, I am going to endeavour to stand (with the assistance of my electronic standing aid) for at least 20 minutes every day of May. This may seem like nothing - but it is going to be tough on my body, as usually I ‘stand’ once every 2 weeks or so for roughly 15 minutes. I’ll suffer with the blood pressure, pain and POTs symptoms, but I’m determined to do something to help those trying to find a diagnosis, going through the diagnosis process and ultimately those trying to live with a diagnosis and suffering horrendous symptoms and life challenges.
