Story
I’m honoured to announce that I will be running the London Marathon for Team Sue Ryder in 2026💛
I will be running in memory of my beautiful mum, Julie Stevens, who tragically lost her battle with cancer last September. Mum spent her final weeks at Manorlands, where the incredible team not only provided exceptional care for her, but also offered unwavering support to our family during such a difficult time.
I will also be running in support of my best friend, Megan, who was diagnosed with stage four cancer last year. It was a devastating blow, but Megan’s courage and resilience have been nothing short of inspiring. I’ve watched her fight with everything she has—never giving up, no matter how tough things got. Today, Megan is cancer-free, and her journey has shown me the true meaning of strength and hope. I’m running the marathon in 2026 to honour her incredible recovery and her relentless determination that’s carried her through every challenge.
This marathon means so much more to me than just completing a race—it’s my way of saying thank you to Sue Ryder for everything they did for my family. It’s a tribute to my mum’s memory, and a way to help ensure that other families can receive the same compassionate care and support during their most challenging moments.
On Friday 12th September 2025, Commando Mindset Skipton and I will be hosting a charity fundraiser in support of Sue Ryder Manorlands to help reach my £2000 target for the London Marathon. 💛 The team will be attempting to run 5k every hour for 24 hours. 🏃♂️
💥Please consider supporting this cause by coming down to the event to cheer on the athletes, joining in for a run yourself, or donating any amount please— it truly means the world.
I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can offer by donating to this amazing cause. Every penny raised will go directly to Sue Ryder, enabling them to continue their vital work in providing end-of-life care, family support, and so much more.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, kindness, and for helping me honour my mum’s memory and Megan’s resilience through this challenge.
Abi x
