We have decided to take on the challenge of the Conwy Half Marathon in November 2023 in memory of Abi’s young cousin, Tom, who tragically and unexpectedly passed away on Christmas Day 2022.

Tom was a fun-loving 20-year-old who loved nothing more than hanging around with his large group of friends when not at work and loved endlessly by all of his family including his Mum, Dad and 2 sisters. The cause of his death was ultimately not discovered and put down to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome and therefore we would like to fundraise for an appropriate charity

This event will be almost a year to the date of young Tom’s passing and we wish to dedicate this challenge to Tom and raise money to support research into Sudden Arrhythmic/Adult Death Syndrome UK (SADS UK). Fundraising for this charity will help towards further research and medical provisions to help prevent further premature sudden cardiac deaths.

Neither of us have ever completed a distance further than 10K before so this is going to be a mental and physical challenge for us both.
