Story
I will be cycling 170 miles solo through Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons both to raise money and to remember the life of dear Allison who passed away in December 2024. Allison was a childhood friend who was loved by everyone she encountered, because of her generous spirit, curious mind, and her unrelenting fight to improve the lives of others and her own.
Allison lived an action packed life alongside living with Cystic Fibrosis. I’ve heard from Alli’s parents that she received outstanding care from the All Wales Cystic Fibrosis Centre at Llandough Hospital. It was so important to Alli that she also raised money for the fund, wanting the best care for other people living with cystic fibrosis.
Allison didn't let CF define her, although she had 4 transplant operations over her life and lived with uncertainty, she achieved her wish to become a GP, travelled, raised money, lobbied government to change organ donation laws in Wales, always put others first and lived to have fun and party.
Allison was an inspiration to everyone she met, her achievements and legacy of how to live life, will live on through the lives she touched.
The Better Life fund is part of the Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, registered charity number 1056544.
The Better Life fund supports the All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre at University Hospital Llandough, by providing additional, often expensive equipment not available on the NHS.
