Saathi Teachers Nepal

Abigail Caniparu is raising money for MondoChallenge Foundation
We are raising funds to train and support primary teachers to work in some of the poorest schools in the Helambu area of Nepal

Story

HELP is a locally founded non-profit organization established in 2009 with the aim of improving the quality of education in rural public schools supported by a UK based charity Mondo Foundation. The organisation works in partnership with local communities, government schools, and development partners to support children in some of the most remote and economically disadvantaged regions of the country.

Its international volunteering programme was established in 2010 with the aim of supporting English learning while also encouraging meaningful cultural exchange and collaboration. Since then, the programme has hosted hundreds of volunteers from different parts of the world. Many of these volunteers have contributed significantly to the schools through teaching support, extracurricular activities, and by raising funds that enable HELP to extend its work to more schools and communities.

As a small non-profit organization, HELP does not receive guaranteed core funding. Therefore, volunteers are encouraged to raise a contribution of £300, which goes directly toward supporting the Saathi Teachers Programme and the ongoing work of improving education in rural schools. This fundraising contribution is not a participation fee but rather a way for volunteers to support the sustainability of the programme.
