Abigail Foley is raising money for St Christopher's Hospice

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Run for St Christopher's and help us to provide expert end of life care to patients and their families in the boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth.

Story

Hey everyone, I’m running the London Marathon to raise money for St Christopher’s hospice who helped my lovely dad in his last few days.

Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in August of 2023, which was a shock to us all and despite a truly brave battle, he passed away in April of 2024.

Without the help of St Christopher’s, we wouldn’t have been able to fulfil my Dad’s final wish, which was to come home so that he could be with his family in his final days. Not only did they help provide great Palliative care for my dad, but they also provided support for my Mum, Tom and I after Dad was gone.

Anyone that knew my Dad knows that he always knew how to brighten a room and cheer anyone up with his great sense of humour, so I am super excited to be running in his honour. (I am sure he would be cracking up at the idea of me running 42km🤭). Any donations are super appreciated! Xx

St Christopher's are proud to offer world class palliative and end of life care to everyone who needs it, whenever or wherever that may be. We are also here for the people closest to you.

The hospice itself is a friendly, vibrant place, and as unlike a traditional hospital as we can make it. But rest assured, our medical and nursing care is excellent and our clinical teams are highly professional and devoted to doing their best for you.

However, as we often say, we’re more than just a hospice. We are proud of our community programmes that offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to over 7,500 people in the local area, most of whom we will help to continue living at home. If you’re one of them, we are ready to help you too.

We are a place for everyone.

We rely on donations to care for our patients and those close to them. Please help us to raise funds to continue this important work by donating to St Christopher’s. Thank you.
