Story
At the end of last year my wonderful best friend Emma Travis suggested something crazy, that we do the Great North Run. I'm not a runner so was hesitant to say the least as it's a long way, 13.1 miles. Then Em said, let's do it for MNDA and for your Dad. How could I say no?!
Em has brought together a wonderful group of ladies and our team will be taking on the Great North Run to raise vital funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) in loving memory of my Dad, Noel Pollard.
Two years ago, MND took my Dad away from us. It is a cruel disease that robs families of fathers, mothers, siblings and friends far too soon.
By running 13.1 miles together, we hope not only to honour Dad's spirit but also to stand alongside all those battling MND today. Every step we take will carry a piece of his laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family. Your sponsorship will directly fund pioneering research, vital support services, and the search for a cure—giving hope to families like ours who face the same devastating diagnosis.
Please sponsor our team:
• £10 could provide a specially adapted communication device for someone who’s lost their voice.
• £25 could fund a home visit by a specialist MNDA support worker.
• £50 could contribute towards critical laboratory research into better treatments.
Together, we can turn our miles into meaningful change—and make sure Dad's legacy shines brightly in the fight against MND. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support.
