Story
Hello again… On the 13th September 2026, I will be joining Adam Claxton: inspiring AML patient from Worcester, to take part in the amazing Worcester 10k🩷
As a charity, Cure Leukaemia is now incredibly close to me and my family’s hearts….
Due to a rare mutation, Mum has just finished her stem cell transplant after her diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), (the same type of leukaemia as Adam). My wonderful older sister Beth has been the donor and Mum is currently recovering from this life changing procedure.
Without fundraising by Cure Leukaemia, Mum might not have been able to have undergone all of the treatment she has currently received.
There may still be a long time to go until she is living her life normally again. Navigating my mid twenties whilst this has been happening has honestly felt surreal - as my Mum is my best friend and a huge part of my life.
By joining Team CL and taking part in the Worcester 10K, I hope to raise even more vital funds for Cure Leukaemia. My goal is to reach 8k this year for the charity - which would result in raising a final £400…
Blood cancer is the UK’s THIRD biggest cancer killer, and over 40,000 people are diagnosed with a blood cancer every year in the UK. Right now, Mum has fought AML with incredible courage and I could not be prouder of her.
This final push is for my gorgeous Mum, for Adam Claxton, and for EVERYONE affected by blood cancer🩷
Absolutely any donation amount is appreciated - and THANK YOU millions to all of the donations for my previous fundraisers - you have no idea the difference you have made 😢🩷
