Story
On Sunday 26 April, I'll be taking part in the world's greatest marathon with #Team Place2Be.
I am running the London marathon in memory of my big brother Daniel Sugrue. On July 28th 2024, our worlds came crashing down when we tragically lost Daniel to his battle with mental health.
Everyone who knew my brother was so incredibly lucky, he was the most intelligent and funny soul, he had the purest heart you would ever meet. It is a privilege to be able to say he is my big brother.
Last April I ran the London marathon for place2be and raised a total of £18,000 it was the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced but every second (and every tear) was worth it in the end as the money helped children who so desperately needed place2be’s recourses
Place2Be is the UK's leading school-based mental health charity, providing support to children, families and school-based staff when they need it most.
One in five children and young people now have a probable mental health problem, and many more struggle with challenges from bullying to bereavement. Place2Be believe every child should have easy access to mental health support. Whenever they need it.
Please help me support Place2Be’s vital work, and together we can make a real difference to children's mental health and ensure that children don’t have to face mental health problems alone.
